Harriman Farms

25 years of growing

While still in grade school, William Harriman grew a small field of produce behind his parents house, and marketed the produce to the local grocery store. Soon after, he pieced together a used greenhouse along with help from his parents. At the greenhouse, along with help from his mom and sister, William sold bedding and vegetable plants to those customers curious enough to make the drive out to the house.

Shortly before William graduated from Purdue University in 2007 he noticed a piece of property available north of Spencer right on the highway. With tillable acreage, a large barn, and a potential storefront, it seemed just right.

His sister, Shelley, officially joined the business in 2011 after graduating from Indiana University. No stranger to helping on the farm, Shelley took over the farm market and greenhouses while William focused on wholesale produce.

With better visibility at the highway location, the greenhouse business has blossomed in the spring . During the summers, we welcome customers to the farm by offering delicious farm-fresh produce including melons, berries, and vegetables. We also grow a fresh round of annuals. perennials, pots, and baskets for summer planting. And we wind it all up with mums and pumpkins in the fall.

Recently we’ve added a Holiday Open House in late November/early December during which you can find beautiful poinsettias, handmade wreaths, and more.
